Autonomous User Experience

Autonomous UX refers to interaction patterns where the system takes action without explicit user commands, based on learned preferences, contextual triggers, or delegated authority. The UX challenge is enormous: how do you design for something that happens when the user isn't looking? This includes notification design for completed tasks, undo/rollback patterns for autonomous decisions, preference learning interfaces, and the critical question of progressive autonomy — how an agent earns the right to do more on its own over time.
