Reflective Agents

Reflective agents are AI systems that can evaluate their own outputs, identify mistakes or suboptimal results, and self-correct before presenting final results to users. Reflection might involve re-reading a drafted email for tone, re-checking calculations, or re-evaluating whether a plan actually addresses the user's goal. This capability dramatically improves output quality but adds latency and cost. The design question is when reflection is worth the overhead — and how to make the user feel good about the extra wait.
